It's is rather bizarre replying to my own help request but here goes. Looking through the various help requests I observed that Java was a regular name coming to the for. I went to the Java site only for IE to fail so I took this as a clue to the problem. I uninstalled my copy of JRE and reloaded. I then downloaded the Opera browser and was able to get into the Java web site from where I downloaded another copy of the JRE 5. I then reinstalled Limewear Basic and the application worked, IE also worked without errors. So thank you Malcolm. That's alright, don't mention it.
