installing download
 

when I try to launch the software I downloaded, the limewire home page keeps opening up. How do I change the file I want to open the dowload with? Or how do I now install the software?

You can't launch programs via LW. The launch function is ONLY designed for multimedia files like music, audio, etc.

Go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & then try opening it.

Oh I might have misunderstood your problem. Install Java 1st from point #1 here: Fixes for Limewire & then get this "Other" version; See Here about other version. & just unzip & use it.
