Can I re-install again for free!
 

Hi.. I need some help please. I have a problem with my C drive which has caused my CD rom to stop working. As a consequence I have been told that I must completely clear the C drive and re-install all of the wiped programmes, including Lime Wire. I paid £30 to install Limewire about 2 months ago, and really don't want to have to pay again. (I forgot to back it up when I installed it). Will Limewire allow me to re-install for free...?
I'm tried to find a contact email for them but this has proved unsuccessful.. maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

Oh dear ... It looks like you purchased Limewire ... probably basic .... from a Scam site.
Limewire basic is free from www.limewire.com. For US$18.88 you can purchase pro

Well I must admit this site is not on the level of the worst of the scam sites, and in fact reading the faqs I find:

"I thought the software was free. Why am I being asked to pay?
The software is free. You are paying for the online help and support and the online tutorials for the lifetime of the membership."

So unless they have changed the wording of this, this does explain what you were buying. I get an inkling that all is not perfect however when I try the Support links and they are dead. The Terms of service link is also dead.
All the links to the money related bits work though! Ah well it might just be mac/opera related problems. But then again .........

Anyway, unless you purchase Limewire PRO from Limewire, you cannot contact Limewire support... but like I said you can get Limewire basic free and the technical support on the forums here is, I feel sure, just as good as TV Centrals! :)

BTW have you tried to contact TV Central?

God i feel like such a twat....I tried to contact them yesterday and all of the links (apart from the money ones) were dead as you said so it obviously is a con of some sort, but the site looks so authentic.

I'll wipe the C drive and pay via this forum. The thing about that site was that it said it costs $19.95 but they took £30 from my account so I should have realised at that point they were a con (They listed what the break down of money was for but I can't remember what it was for)... oh well!
