"Please uninstall Java before reinstalling..."

I used to have limewire, then i updated and it gave me some error, so I just uninstalled Java and Limewire in my Add/Remove Progams. Then I downloaded Limewire and installed it (offline). Half way into the installation it starts installing Java, then it says "You already have this version of Java installed. Please delete it in your Add/Remove Progams list before reinstalling". Wtf? I dont have any version of Java installed, since I just uninstalled it all. How do i fix this problem?

It's actually probably easier to install Java 1st. That gives you the chance to use the "Offline" Java installer which is so much safer to use than an online installation which happens when you install LW. So many Java installations are corrupt/incomplete due to them being installed over the net. So might I recomment, install Java using the "offline" version installer. Then install LW. Links for Java from here: Fixes for Limewire LW will only use either Java 1.4.2 or 1.5 now. For some reasons some people's comp configurations don't like one of those versions & will misbehave. If that happens to you, then uninstall the Java using add/remove control panel & then install the other version.

(BTW LW no longer uses the add/remove control panel to uninstall. The present versions will uninstall the previous version during the installation process. And you can also go to the Start menu >Progs>LW>Uninstall.)
