install proceess stalls

hi all new here. i really would preciate someone easing my frustrations. during the install process it gets to -
c:\docume~1\jim\locals\~1\temp\jrestub.exe then stalls everytime mentioning something about jave jre. so i went on to sun micro systems web site after reading the faq and downloaded the JRE 1.3.1. java runtime enviroment. after this i checked my add remove programs and it appeared there. i tried again to install limewire and the install process stalled at the same part with the same error message as above. H E L P
