Uninstall your Java using the add/remove control panel then re-install using the "Offline" java installer. Links for java from point #1 here: Fixes for Limewire If that doesn't fix it, try deleting your LW preferences whilst LW is closed as in point #2. If that doesn't fix it, then either try a different version of Java as suggested in point #1, or re-install LW using the "Offline" installer.

how do you do the off line installer

Lord of the Rings October 30th, 2005 06:58 PM

At the Java site, you'll be given an option to download the installer (as compared to installing over the net.) Follow thru the Java link & at the end you'll see an option for either offline or online installation. Offline downld size is about 15 MB.
I forgot to mention, once you've downlded the Java, double-click the exe file in order to install. Or use the Add/Remove control panel to install it.

did not work.

See The way to fix the Blank screen on startup. It may mean adjusting your graphic card settings or dropping down to Java 1.4.2 & if you do the Java changeover, then you'd need to uninstall Java 1.5
