Limewire Pro problem I have purchased Limewire Pro (not sure which email address I used though). I installed it fine on my original HD but it kept asking me to upgrade to Limewire Pro! When I got larger HD can only install Limewire Basic. Can somebody advise me what to do. Thanks |
I purchased Limewire on September 26 for £33.29 from their official website |
The official website's adress is www.limewire.com and the price they have for Pro is 18.88$. I sense a scam in the force. |
That is the website I went to (limewire.com) and downloaded the offical version, with the exchange rate to the $ I paid £33.29 on 26 September. Can someone help me sort out this problem? Many thanks |
When you purchased pro, you would have been sent an email from customer support with a link to your own personal pro downld page. Just use that one again. It's a good idea to bookmark the page. If you deleted that email then remember the email you used to purchase pro with & go here |
Thanks but my email address is not being recognised, at the time I purchased limewire (£13.41) I also purchased an upgrade pack (£9.97) & netspy Protector option (£8.88). credit card meant I paid £33.29 |
Ouch! Oh yeah you've definitely been scammed. Which site did you get it from? Check here Known Scam Sites So originally you actually only got LW basic. They take your money & then give you a link to the LW Basic downld page. Else they have LW Basic on their server with lots of spyware & nasties inside it. |
Hi-Jacked and Scammed Niceguy247 If what you said is true Quote:
This could mean that either your HOSTS file, PC registry, your browser or all three have been compromised and could be in the control of an outside force, i.e. criminals, hackers, etc. I presumed that because you got 'jacked you don't have adequate protection such as anti-virus or a firewall defending your PC. If I am right then you may also be infected with a back-door trojan or virus. Usually criminals/hackers now attack a PC because there is some ilicit financial gain to be made, i.e. getting your financial details so that they plunder you bank and/or credit card accounts. So, apart from the advice given by LOTR and Hobo, I will also suggest that you get your PC reformatted and re-installed and, before going onto the internet again, get yourself some protective software.
