Firewall Preparation

I managed to complete most of the installation of Limewire, but when it got to the firewall preparation, it stops.
As stated the box requesting i allow limewire to bypass the firewall comes up and i click allow. Then the installation box freezes and will not resume installing.
what should i do?

the link to the back up installer does not seem to work either.

Configure your firewall 1st before installing so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

If the page doesn't load then you may need to port forward your modem/router depending on what brand & model of devices you're using.

I would also recommend the "Offline" installer as compared to the other one. ;)

It does say "your test worked!"
the first instruction on the link says "within limewire..."
i dont have limewire yet so how do i work it?
Sorry im pretty computer illiterate :)

That refers to the port Limewire (LW) listens thru. The default is 6346 so use that one. ;)

It still freezes...
Is there anything else that could be going wrong?

It looks to me like you've already installed LW but it's having problems with the final firewall setup detection part. Try updating your Java to 1.5 Java 1.5 (take the JRE)
