I think there's even later Java 1.4.2 versions. But try 1.5

So have you been able to get to the sites to downld? Are you using Internet Explorer? I had a similar problem until I changed over to Firefox which solved those issues. You might want to consider the same change. Explorer seems to have a lot of issues at a lot of sites & is not that stable. It's fine for M$ site downlds/updates. http://www.mozilla.org/download.html
