Spyware perhaps?

After installing the latest version of Limewire from the official site 4.10.5 I noticed that my anti-spyware has placed 3 of the following in quarintine - KaZaA - Grokster and 2 for Limewire, they are all real time registry entries, 3 spyware containing 4 items, as there are 2 for limewire which brings it up to 4

Are these false positives and should I restore them or should I delete them from the quarintine.

I am just concerned that they may be required for Limewire to work correctly

Well ... you haven't told us which spyware program you're using. Problem is as reported by the spyware forum, there's too many "dud" spyware programs out there. The ones the spyware forum recommends & we recommend that don't make mistakes are: 1. Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE), & also worth getting is 2. ad-ware (FREE)

I can assure you LW has no spyware of adware. So if your spyware program detects it, it is a dud or inaccurate utility program. The question is how many other mistakes does it make. I hope you haven't deleted any valid programs that in truefulness don't contain either but the ineffiency of your utillity made the mistake. It's called false-positives when such a program detects a spyware where it doesn't exist. Get a reliable program to do the job & trash the rubbish you have.

The spyware programme I use is built into the suite I use called PCGuard.

Why is it then that there are kazaa, grokster, and limewire
registry entries? I know for sure that KaZaA itself has spyware has it not? or is it because Limewire uses kazaa for downloads?

Also would it not be that my ISP that gave us PCGuard really does not want us to use p2p's like Limewire, and so that's why those are false positives?

When I click on learn more at the spyware centre for each of the 3 here are the links to them

If also what you say about Limewire spyware is true, then can you please tell me what the following are used for. As these were picked up by the anti spyware programme too.

And should I restore everything that has been picked up as mentioned here and at my first post.

c:\Program Files\LimeWire\GenericWindowsUtils.dll

c:\Program Files\LimeWire\WindowsV5PlusUtils.dll
