Angry Different Problem w LW

I have deleted the .limewire folder, and reset all options.

Now it will work as long as it wants to, then it just disappears. No warnings, crash boxes...just gone.

What's up with that. I want the old version back.

Can anyone help with this new problem

Please send replies to ***

I have little time to go to yet another forum, so please send the fix or answer to the email above...

Thanks so much to the person that solves this problem.

Are you using windows 95 or earlier. lol You haven't provided many, if any details. Try updating your Java, Fixes for Limewire

oops sorry...I'm just so frustrated.

Right now I'm on Win98SE 512 SDRAM AMD Sempron 2800, I've already updated my jave which fixed half my probs. B4 it would start and crash.

Now it just dissappears for now reason or anything that I do or click. But it seems if you leave everything alone, it will stay. It's all completely random.

Who still uses Wi*** anyway...idiots? Unless they have a specfic reason I guess for a certain app.

Thanks again, desperatly needing professional help...not a shink!!!lol

Which version of LW are you using?
Sorry I don't have any immediate answers. The only time I've seen or heard of such as thing was some years back on a different OS. I'd hide the program but sometimes it would refuse to show again. But that was due to a much earlier version of Java.

When you say LW disappears ... do you mean the interface simply disappears or the program stops running & quits?

Do a control-alt-del & bring up task manager & see if Limewire is still listed as running when it disappears.

Is LW the only program it happens to?

Do you use an anti-spyware program or similar, & if yes which one(s)?

Did you give LW full clearance thru your firewall if you have one? Is there a port opened on your modem/router for incoming?

What graphic card brand & model are you using?

I am using LW 4.10.5

I have upgrade the java from the link on this forum

When the prob happens, its goes, dissappears and is not in the program manager,(ctrl, alt, del)

Yes Limewire is the only program I've ever seen this happen to and I've been putin for over 10 years.

No anti-spyware.

I use Zone Alarm, which LW is fully accessed. And have never had any problem with any previous versions of LW.

My vid card is the same....Radeon 9200.

I believe this is problem with the current version 4.10.5 of LW.

Is there a way I can get an older version of LW that I never had a problem with? I tried myself, but the installer always installs this same version.

What to do?

I really appreciate all this help and hope we can get this resolved together.

Thanks so much again,
WIKKIED

So it's just becoming invisible, it's actually quitting. What version did you have before?

4.8.1 I think.

Another question, I have Win98se and want to install XP corporate. It's an upgrade, cuz it will only install under windows.

If I convert, do I have to reinstall everything or will some stuff come over,,,,what happens if I do?
