Limewire Pro

I paid 18.88 for a years subscription in 2005. My computer had a virus and I lost everything. I went to the limewire site to get my installer for pro and it says my e-mail is invalid. I only have one so I am not sure what happened. Is there a way to contact limewire to confirm my subscription? Thanks for any help and please e-mail me the answer. :D

There is no 1 year subscription to LimeWire Pro only 6 months for $18.88

Please Help

Ok, fine. But I paid the $18.88 and my e-mail address is edited to conform with forum rulez of privacy. Why is it telling me it is an invalid address and how can I contact Limewire. I would appreciate any help I can get. I have seen most of the postings from others who have similar problems and there seems to be no one to answer or help. Do you or anyone else who is associated with them have a support or billing e-mail?

I'm sorry...but you have obviously missed the point...

I am sorry, but you people don't get it.....I have seen several postings on this web site from many people with the same problem and there is always the same response by so called senior members. I think that we are being SCAMMED, but by the same company. I got my program directly from the limewire.com website. I will get the copy of this transaction and probably since I am getting no assistance from the creator of the program or have no way to contact them, I will be taking this up to the better business bureau or other prosecuting authorities in my state. I think it is sad that a good program and system such as limewire has rude and unhelpful people representing their website and services. Anyone seeing this message and would like to join me please e-mail me at EDITED YET AGAIN...READ THE RULEZ...I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE PISSED ABOUT YOUR SETCH...READ THE RULEZ REGARDING POSTING PRIVATE INFORMATION. I will also be going to petitions.com to post there as well.

  :(

**EDIT BY SENIOR SUPERMODERATOR PEERLESS: ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT?...YES A SINGLE PAYMENT OF $18.88 GETS YOU 6 MONTHS...

AND PLEASE REALIZE, BESIDES A FEW LimeWire PPL, THE VAST MAJORITY OF THIS FORUM IS POPULATED BY PPL WHO ARE IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH LimeWire...AND AS A FACT, I AM NOT IN ANY WAY AFFILIATED WITH LW..

TAKE YOUR GRIPE UP WITH THE BBB, OR WHOEVER...BE MY GUEST, AND YOU ACTUALLY HAVE MY SUPPORT ON SAID AGENDA...

ALSO, THIS FORUM IS NOT RUN BY LimeWire...NOTE THE NAME OF SAID FORUMS: GNUTELLA FORUMS

A: LimeWire BASIC is completely free to download and use. An enhanced version of LimeWire, LimeWire PRO, is also available for a one time charge. LimeWire PRO can be purchased as an electronic download or on CD.
Quote:

LimeWire is a software application. The one-time payment for LimeWire PRO is a payment to purchase a copy of the program. PRO purchasers also receive Technical Support via email and up to 6 months of free updates.
You will not be charged again by Lime Wire after your initial purchase. After 6 months, PRO users have the option to purchase an additional 6 months of technical support and free updates for a reduced price.

Above is the link I sent you to It is clearly posted what there terms are. If you did indeed purchase Pro from the official site after 6 months you upgrade and support run out thus your e mail address is removed from their server since you are no longer entitled to support. Listed above in their terms.

.You should have burned your copy of pro to disk you bought it thus you were entitled to do so. Just for future reference any software you buy and download from the net you should first save it to your hard drive then burn it to disk thus if you for some reason loose it you have a back up copy. You bought the software thus you have the legal right to burn it.

I have found it best practice to include a note pad file with the serial number the date of purchase transaction number the amount paid the website URL and allot of purchases you make over the Internet a phone number will show up on your CC statement it is a good idea to include this also. I do this with all software I purchase over the net thus if I have any problems I have all the information I need. Unfortunately the majority of people do not do this.

As for your problem I do not know what to tell you LimeWire has no obligation to do anything. You can contact whoever you want but they have done nothing wrong and you will be told that it is spelled out in there terms. If you did not read them entirely before your purchase that is your problem not theirs.

My course of action here would be as Peerless suggest and contact mformel and explain your problem without the anger and threats they will get you no where other than no response. And remember LimeWire is under no way obliged to do anything.

Either this person purchased from a scam site or else, their subscription to pro ran out. Only 6 months of free updates. If you lose your copy after 6 months then that's your problem. And after your subscription runs out, your name drops off their database (if you did purchase it from the official site.) But they offer you a discount to continue as a pro user toward the end of the 6 mth period.

Ferral February 25th, 2006 08:16 PM

Interesting - no permanent access to the version you paid for eh?

Lord of the Rings February 25th, 2006 08:25 PM

It's just the same as "any" software you buy online. You can get support for updates for a certain period but after that, if you lose your copy then you're the one at a loss not the company. You should back up your downlded softw from online purchases. I would think that'd go without saying without spelling it out. LW states explicitly 6 months only of free updates. (What they don't say is they offer discounts on continuing pro support at the end of the 6 mths period.) If you didn't know that then you have a lot to learn about online purchasing. The conditions for LW are layed out on the main purchase page. Nothing is hidden or in fine print.
