Help Unable to Enable Lime wire
 
Hi guys, I have been using limewire for 6 months and it is great i have a problem now last week when getting into limewire the search wouldn't show any results. looking at the top of the tool bar it states enabling open information sharing, i have had messages stating my connection wasn't complete :confused: that my firewall may need to be changed. :eek: I have gone through the help section, :o checked my internet connection, turned my firewall off totally, re downloaded the new version of lime wire and still nothing,:( could someone please help me.. Go through this, double check that your firewall's configured properly & read the info about internal firewalls within routers & modems... if your device has one, there's a lot of info about enabling UPnP or port forwarding to get around the problem
Connection problems? Check here first!

Has anything changed with your ISP lately? Do this test & see if it works

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW

if that dont work just redownload.I had that problem and I just downloaded again and it was ok

Same problem, only worse
 
I had the same problem, tried to re-install Limewire, got the basic version, not the Pro I had previously and now Limewire says I never bought the Pro version. I still have the Paypal receipt. Is this some kind of Limewire rip-off? What do I do to get my Pro version back without paying for something that was paid for in perpetuity once before?:mad: :mad:

Did you buy Pro from www.limewire.com ?
Your payment of $18.88 covers you for 6 months of updates & email support. You only pay once for the Pro versions that you use during the 6 months but it's your responsibility to back up the installers so that you can keep on using those versions of Pro.
If you paid more than 6 months ago, your email address won't be in the database any more.
If you bought from another site, LW won't ever recognise your email address.

I got that from another thread. It was just frustrating because I thought lifetime really meant lifetime.
