Default having a problem with LW 4.12.4

I recently downloaded the new version of LW to my new PC. I belive i had 4.10 on my old PC and it worked fine. I have good knowledge of computers and usually can figure these things out, but i simply cant find a solution here.

Well the problem i am experiencing is after i install LW. When i start up it brings me through the setup, i choose my language, file directory, and modem speed. Then a box concerning firewalls pops up (all of this while it says LW is Loading htlml or something). It tells me LW runs best when it can get through the Firewall, so i permit LW to pass, but the box always comes up and if i exit it, LW shuts down. I cant click 'next' or 'finish' at this screen. I downloaded the offline version, reinstalled the windows but i get the same error. Can anybody offer me some advice to fx this?

You will need to install Java and LimeWire manually First go to the first link. You can find Links to java in there Download Java to your hard drive by putting a mark in the save to disc box. Save it to my documents or wherever you save downloads from the internet. Do the same with LimeWire the second link will take you there.

Now with that done click on start then control panel add/remove programs and see if Java is listed on the list if it is uninstall it. Do the same with LimeWire if the un installers were not loaded you may have to manually delete the files. But in most cases this is not necessary.

Now click on the Java installer you saved to your hard drive and follow the instructions after you have completed that do the same with LimeWire.

Please post back and let us know if it worked.

wow, i fixed it. It may have been my video card causing the problem, i have an ATI Radeon X1800XT and i looked at the bottom of the firewall box and saw what appeared to be the top of 3 boxes, i clicked the middle one and it advanced and is working fine now. Thank you for the help but i guess it was my vid card the whole time

I am having this problem too. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Java and Limewire. Removed the Limewire "preferences folder" which is mentioned in another thread. It still freezes at the firewall screen. I am unable to see the tops of the boxes as described by "Big Bubba".. anyone else had this problem?? And a fix?
