Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

Install Java 1st, but get the "Offline" version Java 1.5 (take the JRE). Then install LW. It's not uncommon for there to be problems installing online java. Choose the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 8 which is 4th downld on the list.
