doublebrutal is flying high
Default unable to open limewire

recently i have got limewire and installed it but when i click on the desktop icon to open lime wire nothing happens. i dont uinderstand why as i used to have it and it run fine and now i cant even open it ?

i have tried to reinstall it numerous time but with no luck. please help me. i cant live without music :S

You'll have to uninstall it again, as well as all Java you have on your computer. Then restart and download the JRE offline installer of the newest Java version. Install it and reboot again.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
Then install Limeiwire.

I had this prob..hastle huh. I fixed it by completely removing all trace of the original limewire installation. Use regedit and search for limewire then delete all references in registry. Search for all instances of limewire using windows search (f3) delete all limewire folders, files and anything that remotely points to or have anything to do with lime wire. Then re-boot and re-install limewire. Dont worry about java..it will tell you if it needs to install it. Good luck

I don't totally agree with that. Installing Java using the "Offline" installer is much safer than installing it online whilst installing LW. That's where many people have problems because Java is reknown for having installation problems resulting in corrupt java installations. This not only applies to LW but all programs that utilise Java.
