Startup Error!!!!!!!!!
 

Everytime i try to open LW it gives a report saying that there is a startup error and it wont open. If anyone has anyidea on how to fix this PLEASE reply. THX

Uninstall LW and all Java versions on your system. Reboot and then download the JRE offline installer of the newest Java version (1.5.0_08) from here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
Install it and reboot again, then reinstall LW. See if this changes something...

Maybe changing the compatibility mode can do the trick. Right-click the LW icon on your desktop and go Properties>Compatibility and change the compatibility mode to Windows NT or Windows 2000.
What LW version do you have, by the way? And do you have any Security Programs running, which might prevent LW from opening properly?

A deletion of the LW preference folder could also be of help. Read here on how to do this (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire):

nope, nothing has changed. the problem keeps coming up on any version, and there is nothing but norton anti virus. This is exactly wat they keep telling me "One or more necessary files appear to be invalid. This is generally caused by a corrupted installation. Please try downloading and installing LIMEWIRE again" and they show this report afterwards: LimeWire version 4.12.6
