wont start up
 

i've had limewire for sometime now and all of a sudden it wont start up. i click on the icon and that little box will open saying loading user interface and everything then when it gets to loading library window then it freezes. or if it dose get done with that then the box goes away and the program still dosnet load up. i'm uninstaller java and reinstallled and reinstalled limewire but nothing seems to be working:bangh:

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

Did you reinstall Java first, using the offline installer? Point 1 below.

Did you also use the offline installer for LW?

Also try deleting LW's preferences when LW's completely closed (check in task manager to see if it's running). That's points 2 & 3 above.
You could change compatibility too, that's point 5.

If none of this helps, make sure that LW's on the list of exceptions/allowed apps for any antispyware you're using. Have you updated or changed any security programs/settings recently?

Oops, got beaten. You can try these other things if deleting the preferences doesn't work!
