Try the fixes in this thread and make sure you use the offline installers...

Thank You for helping...but I have cleaned out all of the Java stuff my computer will let me clean out, even in hidden files and folders. I still can not download limewire on or offline. I have windows xp, if that makes any difference. I still can't open limewire due to java already installed, will go uninstall everything, still won't do it. Any other suggestions?? Thanks!

Use add/remove control panel to remove all Java versions (JRE, etc.) Reboot the computer. Then downld the "Offline" java installer & reinstall. The offline installer is about 15 MB in size http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Also try steps 3 & 5 here Fixes for Limewire
