Installation sticks on Welcome window
 

After my running the install files, no matter which Windows version of Limewire Basic I install, when I to reach the Welcome screen and it tells me to click on NEXT to perform some basic setup, I cannot do anything - clicking on NEXT does nothing, clicking on CANCEL does nothing, clicking on the X to close the window does nothing, clicking on the Title Bar to move the window around does nothing - each and every install I have done.

I turned off Adaware, I turned off McAfee - and still, no go.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Any suggestions?

Which installer have you been using? The online installation can be a pain.

Try this:
First, update your Java. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install the new one. See point 1 below
Fixes for LimeWire

Next, delete LW's preference folder when LW's properly closed (check in Task Manager). That's points 2 & 3 above.

Last of all, reinstall LW using the offline installer here
