Stuck in LW "Setup Dialog"

The first screen where you select the language you prefer. I can not click on anything. My task manager doesn't even show LW running. It's as if it didn't complete the download. Is this step one of the steps to finish the download? How do I go around it, if I can't click on anything or get past this window. Thanks

Let me add that I do have the "next" button. It highlights when I put my cursor over it, but just will not allow me to click on it.

k, i uninstalled and then re-installed the version of java recommended by birdy in another thread. i attempted to open LW again and the same thing occured. in frustration I began to hit every key over and over, when i noticed a green highlight jump from button to button when I hit the tab button. I was able to get through the setup dialog by tabbing and using the space bar to click onto whatever I want. now that LW is completely installed. Im at the search page, but again, I can not click on anything. So I'm back to square one. I can't do anything once I'm in LW. Please help!

I would suggest that you delete your current copy of LW, go back to Limewire.com and re-download it but this time use the off-line installer.

I personally feel that most users have problems with the (recommended) online installer, and anything can go wrong with it such as some form of corruption creeping in or a break in communications. Whereas the off-line installer delivers everything to your HD in one go, you can then run your installation without any interference.

Hope this helps.

It's worth a shot.

The only link I have was the one they provided through my email. And that seems to be an online installer. Can you please point me in the right direction to find the offline installer. Thanks!

I think that what ukbobboy01 was saying to you is also one of the more basic and important rules to be applied when downloading 99.9999999% of programs/applications....

After you have selected a program install file to download,

SAVE it !!!

Do NOT 'OPEN' it !

It is worth taking a first step, normally only once, of creating a new folder in your Documents... Name that new folder

Program Installers (or whatever).

When you elect to download a program install file, choose SAVE and then select to save the file in the already created Program Installers folder.

OK ?

After the download is complete, simply go to the Program Installers folder and do what you like with the file !
