Default freezes at 12%(loading html)

I have tried undownloading and downloading again but nothing helps. When i click on the icon to open it, it starts loading then gets to 12%, and becomes a white screen. Is there a way to fix this at all?

Try these fixes...
Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that doesn't do the trick try deleting your preference folder/s......

Yeah so the same thing's been happening to me as well. I've uninstalled and reinstalled about 7 times and I'm getting really frustrated. I've done everything you've suggested above and I'm going to lose my mind soon. I use LimeWire every single day of my life and it's killing me not to be able to install it on this new computer. Please help me if you can.

ok here we go
1. Windows Vista
2. No firewalls that I know anything about
3. 1918 mb of RAM
4. 114 GB of free space
5. I have wireless internet
6. I really dont know anything about modems or routers... sorry
7. I'm trying to connect from my home
8. I've had the LimeWire 4.14.7 and I just recently this last time tried installing the offline version, still didn't work. I have that offline version of Java that you suggested above.
9. Uhhh my ISP is... I'm not sure.
10. My test worked.
11. Yes, I am sharing this network. It's a wireless network and several computers in my home are connected wirelessly to that network.
12. This is definitely a new problem with an experienced user.
13. I can't get it to start, so I don't know.
14. N/A
15. I uninstalled ALL my security stuff because I was afraid it was affecting my LimeWire situation.
16. I'm in the USA.

OK please help me. I feel like a dummy for not knowing my ISP though. I just click on the Talley network and I'm online.

I'm having the same problem. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Java using the link on limewire.com's FAQ. I've uninstalled my video drivers (and done well with Driver Cleaner Pro) and reinstalled with the newest drivers. I've deleted the preferences folder as the instructions said, emptied the recycling bin, still nothing. I even restarted Windows, deleted the preferences folder again, and tried opening Limewire with the same 12% loading error.

Limewire use to work fine on my computer (probably an older version) but ever since I reinstalled Windows a few weeks ago I've been having this problem. Here's the info you requested:

1. Windows XP Pro (32 bit)
2. No antivirus software, just Windows Firewall
3. 2x1GB DDR2 800
4. ~200GB on C drive, ~400GB storage on secondary drive
5. 8 mb/sec cable internet
6. Modem: LinkSys BEFCMU10, Router: D-Link DI604
7. House
8. Limewire 4.14.7, Java 6 Update 2
9. Comcast Cable
10. Said "Your test worked"
11. Sharing internet with 2 roommates, all wired to router. I don't use any other P2P. I don't think they use P2P, but if they do, they were using it when Limewire use to work on my computer anyway.
12. I'm an experienced user, but ever since I reformatted my HD and reinstalled Limewire on a now fresh system it has had this problem.
13. Can't get into LW so no lol.
14. I have no idea, how do I check?
15. No antivirus, just Windows firewall
16. USA

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I'm not 100% sure when I downloaded this after reinstalling Windows. It might have been days later, so maybe it would in fact work on a fresh reinstallation of Windows (don't want to do that again). But I am positive that no other version of LW was installed when I downloaded this one, and it hasn't worked at all.

Try these fixes in this order and see if it helps...

Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link...
Lime Wire » Download LimeWire

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...Again
