Default Corrupt files, cannot install.....

I tried to update to 4.14 and it comes up in the middle of downloading that I have corrupt files and need to remove them. How do I do this and am I going to lose all my files??

I attempted this again by reading some other users results. I continue to get a error message block that says "Error opening file for writing. Click abort to stop installation, retry, or ignore." It also tells me my lomewire is running but I uninstalled it. I'm lost and I will be sick if I lost all my music files.

Just check that limewire isn't still running in your task manager, if it is select the End Process now option...

Did you uninstall limewire using the uninstaller which is found via Search > All Programs > Limewire/Uninstaller or did you do it through Add/Remove Programs ??

The first option is the correct way, try it and see if that feature is still available to you, if it isn't use your computer's search to look for all files & folders with limewire in the name. If you can't delete them, reboot into safe mode & then try. If they still won't delete, try one of the tools here...
Incomplete Download File won't delete at all.

Then once you have done the above do this...
Uninstall all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Re-install Limewire using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link...
Lime Wire » Download LimeWire
