Question Help! No 'NEXT' button during set-up! Can't finish!

I have been trying to install LW 4.14.8 on a laptop that had an earlier version of LW (4.08, I think) installed on it with no problem. The problem is that the new version installs OK, but as I'm going through the set-up dialog and it gets to the window that says "Firewall Setup" and talks about LW performing best with full access to the internet, suddenly there is no NEXT button (or whatever the button would say if it was there). So I can't finish setting it up and therefore have no LW.

I'm using Norton 360 and have already checked to make sure LW has full access ("ALLOW") in the firewall settings for different programs, so I assume that isn't the problem.

Going by advice I've seen in these forums, I've tried re-installing Java Runtime Environment (the most recent version -- version 6 -- as well as a slightly older one -- JRE 5.0 version 12) but that didn't help. I don't know if it matters but I don't see "Java" listed separately in my Add or Remove Programs control panel -- isn't Java a different thing than JRE? Do I need Java too?

By the way, I'm running WinXP SP2.

Can someone please help me get LW set up properly? I'm about to leave on a longish trip and therefore don't have a lot of time (or patience!) for trying a lot of different solutions on a "hunch" that they might work. I'm hoping someone has run into this problem before and knows just what to do, but all ideas are welcome -- please just tell me whether it's a hunch or a known fix so that I can prioritize the solutions I have time to try.

Thanks a ton, everyone! Much appreciated.
