Default Problem starting Limewire

Everytime I click to load Limewire.. it takes forever and then finally a message comes up with an Internal Error... says its possible for limewire to continue running normally... which after hitting discard or send.. It moves on and then again I get more Internal errors. It takes probably atleast 20 minutes just to open Limewire and use it. On top of that it freezes up for a few seconds sometimes and it just seems really slow.. I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling its the samething..

I tried deleting everything that had limewire in it.. but for some reason I'm unable to delete the folder known as .limewire

When I try to delete the folder .limewire it says I cant delete it because the directory is not empty.. When I try to open the folder it ask if I want to format it now???

This is the Internal Error I get and what it says after I click Review..

I downloaded CCleaner to clean registry and that doesnt work either..

Hopefully someone else has had this problem and been able to fix it. I'd appreciate it if anyone knew how to fix this problem.

Thanks!

Default Problem starting Limewire

I constantly get several internal errors when starting Limewire.. It takes atleast 20 minutes just to open it completely to be able to search.. Even when I do finally get it open it runs slow and also freezes up for a few seconds some times.. As well as when I'm downloading, my downloads will drop to 0 kb/s for short periods of time then increase.. It never did that before when I had no internal errors. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling limewire, doesnt work.. I've tried deleting every file/folder that has limewire in it.. I could not delete the folder .limewire

It says that the directory is not empty and when I try to open it ask if I want to format it now?

I've also tried using CCleaner to clean registry and temp files etc.. I still have the same problem.

This is the internal error that I get upon opening Limewire...

Try 2 things:

1. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

2. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link). Which can really refreshen LW's performance.

If still no good then:

3. Remove all versions of Java & downgrade to Java 1.5_10 Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 10

If LW is closed, then the preferences folder will delete. Next time you open LW, the program will create a new preferences folder. BTW after you have deleted the folder, the new prefs folder will be called Limewire not .limewire. See no. 1 Point #3 above about deleting from the Application Data folder. Or see this link Deleting LW prefs folder sample image

I've already deleted everything that has limewire in it... nothing is working.

the .limewire im talking about is

java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Documents and Settings\dT\.limewire\xml\data\delete_me (Data error (cyclic redundancy check))

after I go to docs and settings, user name, then .limewire... I tried deleting that whole folder and it will not let me period..

LW is completely closed.. as I said.. I've deleted limewire from my PC and tried removing it.. it will not delete!
