Weird Uninstall

Hello,
I know this is the installation page but I don't really know where this would go. Anyways, I recently tried to uninstall limewire with the add/remove program option. It said sucsessfull but I still have the Icon in my start menu. When I try to click it a limewire screen pops up and tells me that one or more necessary file is corrupt. From this I deduce there has only been partially uninstalled.
Please help if you can,

Hi Laurence, Yes, there is a correct and an incorrect way to uninstall Limewire. You chose the Incorrect way.

Correct way; Go to Start > All Programes > Limewire > Uninstall.

You can try this. Go to Start > Search > All Files/Folders > Limewire. Now delete anything and everything that search finds. Hope this helps.

But I can't seem to be able to click the uninstall button... it doesnt work either. Should I redownload limewire? and then uninstall?

I'd rather say download the offline installer of \LW and try to make an installation. It usually should uninstal the previous version while installing the new one.

Hi i dont know if this is the correct location but i am unable to locate how to post a message. I have downloaded liewire pro onto my vista pc and the files have become corrupted for some reason, i have gone into control panel, remove programmes to remove but lime wire file is not visible so unable to delete, can any one help?

when it was loaded onto pc using my profile( adminstrator) it connected fine, super fast connection. When others log on using thier own profiles they are unable to get a connection beciasue limewire says it has detected a firewall and connection is nill

I know what you mean by posting a message, I STILL have a problem with it. Even now I cannot tell you how to post. This should be corrected. Sorry I cannot help you on the log in problem, wish I could. If I were you I would install "Frostwire" it is a kissing cousin to limewire, and it has less problems for some reason. Limewire is a pain in the *** sometimes. It does its own thing, regardless of what WE want it to do. Good luck >>>Ronn
