I had limewire? - Uninstalled it and now Reinstall Not Successful - Help ?
 

I was using limewire for a few months then one day it didnt work any more. It wouldnt activate when I hit my desktop shortcut.I un-installed it and tried to re-install but I just get the desktop icon and the program appears in my control panel but it doesnt 'boot-up' .I have J2se runtime 5.0 and java TM 6 update 2 with windows media player 10. HELP ME!!

Try deleting LW's preference folder with LW completely shut down. Instructions in this thread points 2 & 3(check both locations): Fixes for Limewire. This will reset all your option settings, so make a note of them first(if you can).

Try uninstalling and deleting all versions of java from your Add or Remove Programs Control Panel. Then d/load and install Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 12, use the offline installer.

Thanks 6_pac, you helped me at least in part. I had two versions of java ( 5.1 and 6 update 12 ) I removed the latter and re installed limewire and all is good.:xeri_ok1ani:
