limwire opens then crashes

I have windows vista home premium. the latest versions of it at limewire. when i open limewire it loads normally. it opens to the main screen. then after about 2 seconds it closes. there are no errors. i have tried reinstalling thinking that maybe there was a glitch or something, but it still wont open. i dont have the slightest idea what is wrong with it. i hope someone can help...

Running the latest version of Java?

ductape47 September 20th, 2007 06:38 AM

Yea...

gtwc223 September 20th, 2007 08:33 AM

Latest version of Limewire, right?

Mine was doing that to me, along with flashing and other weird stuff, and updating the Java fixed it. Of course, I'm running XP Pro.

Not behind a software firewall or a router, are ya? I'm assuming Vista still has that Window$ security suite crap.

ductape47 September 20th, 2007 09:22 AM

Well the thing is that it used to work. It just recently started doing this, but i will try reinstalling java

whiskeygirlange September 20th, 2007 09:36 AM

I'm having sortof the same trouble. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Limewire and Java repetitively. It acts like it is going to open and it just stays on the main screen and gets stuck at 12% and won't go any further

ductape47 September 20th, 2007 09:48 AM

thats not exacly what happends to me. mine loads and opens like everything is ok, then it just closes

there was finally an error message that came up
#
# An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_FLT_STACK_CHECK (0xc0000092) at pc=0x01adcea9, pid=6028, tid=5252
#

# Problematic frame:

I Am getting sick and tired of this, but I tried (I guess) everyting that birdie recomended to no avail; I even tried another one that were recomended and the same thing: no errors, just start, opens and then closes, leave an icon on the taskbar, but when I go there it dissapears. Any more ideas- solutions to this??? I have been reading a lot in the forum and tried differente versions of Java and LW, trying to install in a 3.0, Xp PRO, SP2 Machine.
