CenturyBlade is flying high
Default LW: Starts up, asks to buy PRO, then disappears

I have seen this many many times over these forums and you guys always tell us to go to the post telling us about Uninstalling Java then installing the outdated version etc etc etc

Fact is I just followed all of those instructions exactly and still nothing.

It loads 100%, then gives me the usual "Do you want to buy PRO Version" crap "Yes, Later, Why", then just dies. The LW Icon appears in the taskbar but soon as I bring my mouse over it it disappears which I know is just Windows lagging behind in realizing that a program isn't open anymore.

Please help as I have been forced now to use an alternate source for attaining MP3's, a source of which I am uncertain of its purity (but, then again I've never been too trusting of LW either =/), and within this upcoming week I will be starting an online DJ'ing job which pretty much demand's I have LW in order to keep up with the people's requests.

I used LW not too long ago (maybe... 2-3 weeks? I think?...) and suddenly I realized its not starting up with Windows as it usually is. As the Truth.com guy says in the commercials: "WHUDAFXUP?"

Edit: Turns out I overlooked something which you guys actually don't mention (and perhaps should).

See, I think what happened is this:
I uninstalled both Limewire and the updated Java, then installed Limewire, then installed the outdated Java. (Or maybe I did it the other way around, Java first then LW... I'm not really sure... anyways...) What I failed to realize is that Limewire's installer, during the installation process, rips the most current Java from the Sun website and installs it. Of course, considering the updated version takes priority over the crap version, I wound up with the same problem. I went back to my Add/Remove Programs and realized this, so I just deleted (again) the Java 6 and halle-f#$%ing-luja, it works now.

So yeah just for future reference, users of phailure may need to go back to Add/Remove Programs and delete Java 6 again.

P.S. Java will come up in your face again asking to update. Tell it to f#$% off or you'll wind up with the same problems, of course. Right click it and say Cancel.

Great job CenturyBlade. Nice to see that you figured out what the problem was and then fixed it. Also thanks for posting your fix. It might just help out some others.
