totally confused - Installed LW & it worked. After Restart it will NOT load. HELP ?

I downloaded limewire after joining mp3 download net. I am new to this whole thing, not computer savvy. I thought I had to download limewire to use mp3 download net. the limewire download worked, but wanted me to upgrade to pro. I didn't want to spend any more money, so I skipped it. I downloaded one song late last night, and it worked. this morning I turned on my computer and got an error message about my aol software being corrupt. I fixed that. now, when I try to use limewire it wants to install, but it won't because an old install is running. the icon for limewire in my lower right toolbar will not respond to left or right click. I have windows vista and am running pccillain virus protection. please help me!
