whats the difference with limewire beta and limewire 4.16

Hi There , l am new to limewire pro 4.16 a few days ago...but l have this problem when l need to reboot my limewire l lose all my downloads on the limewire page when it loads it comes up with limewire is unable to load your downloads...however l did work out that if l go to my library l can click on them to resume and bring them back up into the limewire download page...is this normal or is there a way l can avoid this happening everytime l load limewire??? l also noticed on the homepage of limewire theres a Beta version....whats the difference with limewire 4.16 and the Beta version???
