Hi. I am in a bit of a state here and really need someones help !!

I bought a new Dell Laptop some weeks ago and am using Vista home premium. I dowloaded Limewire free, the same day and was getting a message coming up every minute or so saying that one or more files are invalid. I did not think to ask here for help and after failing to uninstall properly (the message kept popping up) I did a system restore and the message stopped !!

Today I was brave and downloaded Limewire again and the same thing is happening !! Please please please can someone help me sort out this problem XX!!

I have copied the error message

You may be Infected. Try AVG See Below.

AVG(free) might be able to fix it. Be sure to update it before you scan your computer: AVG Free Advisor: AVG Anti-Virus Free, then follow the prompts.

Post back with your results.

Hi . I updated AVG and and scanned my computer, 18727 trojan horse droppers have been put into the vault !! This pc is less than 5 weeks old and was new from Dell !! and the only thing I have downloaded is Limewire (and tried to get Norton 360 and Mcafee without joy............ errors galore).

AVG tried to heal the objects but crashed and now won't give me the option to heal !!

Can anyone suggest a solution ?

God I am 30 today and am up with my two eldest Children for their Judo tournament !! This is all I need !!

Any help would be received with joy !!

Will be bak on here tonight

Jessica xx

There are various other fixes (BFU, vundofix, system restore) in the threads below...there are different fixes to try as there seem to have been a few variations of this thing over time.
2 probs (LW keeps restarting & can't access options)
Starts on its own/ options folder won't open (possible fix)
installation aborts

Sorry I forgot about this. Try it First. It is a Free and trusted Virus Scanner.

Free Virus Scan: Use ESET's Online Antivirus Scanner

I would Download and Run the Eset Virus scan First. Then you will know what needs to be done after the scan. What ever the case you Need AntiVirus Software, so wait and try to continue to use AVG after the scan
