Won't install - "cannot create unistall file" I am trying to download and install Limewire Basic on my system. It downloads the exe file. Asks me for the installation language and what folder to install in. I then get the following message: Limewire cannot create uninstall information. Installation will now exit. Restarting the computer can often fix this. I am running Windows Vista and have 111Gb of free space. Restarting the computer has not fixed this. Any suggestions? |
Try this... Install Java first. You can download the latest version here: Java SE Downloads Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions installed on your computer (via Add/Remove Programs) before installing this one. Next, download the LW offline installer. When you click to download & a dialog box pops up, cancel it. Now use the option to download the offline installer;) Lime Wire » Download LimeWire Now try installing LW & see whether it works. |
THANK YOU! for the info.:super: I had tried deleting all LW files I had on my system, but didn't think to get rid of Java and redo that as well. I have now been able to get it to install. Thanks again so much. :xirokrotima: |
