![]() I've downloaded Limewire but when it starts installing, a message that comes up says an older version of limewire is running. But there is no older version of limewire running and all old limewire programs have been deleted |

![]() Reboot, try again. ![]() Online installations can be messy. I'd recommend OFFLINE installations of both Java & LW. (1) Remove all previous versions of Java, then reinstall java with Offline installer: Download Java software from Sun Microsystems (2) If you had a previous version of LW on computer earlier, for new version it is best to delete the previous LW Preferences folder; delete your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html (3) Run this small utility to clean registry: Crap Cleaner (4) Offline version of LW: http://www9.limewire.com/download/LimeWireWin-full.exe |

![]() Thanks but I tried it and it did it again... Here's what it says: An older version of limewire appears to be running. You must exit the old version before continuing with the installation. Once you have exited Limewire, click Retry. (Note that Limewire may be running in your system tray (next to the time). To exit, right-click on the lime icon and choose "Exit".) [Abort] [Retry] [Ignore] |
