steveforrest | June 16th, 2008 05:27 PM | Newly installed LimeWire 4.18.2 will not load "TLS Encryption" component. I've been running LimeWire for several years and I have encountered a problem not seen before. LimeWire 4.18.2 installed normally (AMD dual-core processor running XP Pro 32 bit OS), but when the installer finished and the program launched, the loading would not progress past "TLS Encryption" although I waited several minutes to finish loading. I uninstalled LimeWire (REVO Uninstaller), cleaned up the registry and re-installed LimeWire, no difference. I then downloaded a clean version of 4.18.2 from the LimeWire web site, and again uninstalled LimeWire and cleaned up the registry and any leftover install files, same-same. I want to mention that this problem started with an install of QuickTime Player 7.50.61.0 which seemed to be a little hinky when the installer finished. After the install of QuickTime Player, the same version of LimeWire stopped loading at the "TLS Encryption" component. I uninstalled QuickTime Player, cleaned up the registry and any leftover files, but I still have the LimeWire loading problem. IMO, it is little more than coincidental that the LimeWire problem started after installing QTP? Any suggestions for a fix? Thanks! |
