corrupted instalation

I am very new to this so I hope I am posting the correct place. I have run limewire basic before with no problems, however I uninstalled it about 4 months ago. Now when I try to reinstall i am allowed to run the instalation process until the end when i get a corrupted instalation message and am told to retry. I have but the same thing happens again.I am running windows xp, have a norton firewall,diskspace is at 19.35gb running dsl on att. I tried the test and got a test worked message. thanks

Just check and make sure that you don't have any of the old limewire still floating around, it maybe a case of not uninstalling correctly the last time...

Try going to your computers Search and type in limewire and see if anything comes up...If it does delete it ......

wonderin why-sorry it took so long to reply, had to get ready for hurricane. your advice worked limewire installed and working. however cannot tranfer audio files to my computer, can only listen to them on limewire site. thanks barbell

There are no files stored at the LimeWire site. You do not connect to the LW site when running LW. You connect to other users like yourself. That's why it's called p2p (from peer to peer) sharing.

BTW if you are using Norton firewall, then make sure XP firewall is disabled. The two will clash resulting in less security not more, plus other problems.

ok. but still how do i get the songs on my lw library to my computer. am only running norton.

Download them do you mean or move them from your downloads folder to elsewhere such as your My Music folder?
