Default Running same LimeWire settings for all users

Hi all, i would like to know how to make LW run during startup, with every user being able to continue what the other started.
(ie. User1 downloaded file.exe but had to shutdown pc before download finishes, User2 boot up and used PC, User2 should be able to continue downloading file.exe without logging in first as User1 then switching to User2 settings).

Please help me how to do this.

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, you would need to set up a general user area where all accounts have access. You can arrange that via the control panels. I'm on a mac at moment so cannot recall which control panel to use, may also depend on which windows version you have, but similar. You give the area or parent folder Shared access to all user accounts.

Then, use a folder within that area as the download location. This would need to be set for each user when they start up LW.

Not sure if you mean LW starting as soon as people log in to their accounts or boot up the computer, but that can be achieved via LW's menu bar, Tools > Options > Advanced > System startup.

* Just searched my computer & found an old image I posted some years ago. This was from Windows 2000. This is the approximate idea how to go about it. But you would create a new folder I should imagine, outside of user account areas at best such as an alternative partition area. Else near the top of the C directory.

This will share the same download folder & incomplete files & incomplete preferences. However user preferences will need to be duplicated from each user account. They cannot be shared as far as I know. So you would need to go to each user account & set LW options identically.

Thank you for the response, i thought there'd be no answer to that question.
BTW, i'm using XP, and as what you advised, i copied my settings to other user's Application Data folder thus saving me the trouble of setting the user preferences for each of them.

And yes, what i wanted was to have LW started during the boot-up process, so no matter who's logged in, can continue downloading other user's download.

I set-up the incomplete and download folders in a different partition so everyone has access.

Thanks so much for the help.

Let me know how it goes. LW now handles their download preferences differently. I'm not in the knowledge where the download preferences are stored now. They used to be within the incomplete folder within files called Downloads.dat & downloads.bak
The newest versions don't seem to use those files. And I don't see anything in the LW main preference files that suggests they are stored there either. lol (except for sharing options.)
