Default Help needed with fatal error - already tried all the fixes

Hi, I have been using LimeWire for over two years. About a month ago, all of the sudden it stopped working. When I would open up the application, I would get the faal error that I see a lot of people are getting. It looks like this:

LimeWire version 5.0.11
Java version 1.6.0_12 from Sun Microsystems Inc.
Windows 2000 v. 5.0 on x86
Free/total memory: 60297816/66650112

So I came onto these forums and found the thread discussing how to fix this. I followed the instructions and it worked. Then all of the sudden, it happened again and I tried the steps again and now they don't work. I have the most recend update of Java, the most recent update of LimeWire, both OFFLINE. I have used Windows Install Cleanup to make sure I don't have another version of Java running. I don't know what to do.

If somebody could help me I would appreciate it alot.

Also, sorry if the answer is already in another thread. If it is could somebody be so kind and tell me where the thread.

Thanks for reading this.

Justin

Thank you, yes I was about to suggest removing all Java & re-installing until I read the bottom of your post.

Have you tried removing the LW preferences folder? instructions here: Point #3 (point#2 'might' apply in your case if you've never deleted your LW prefs previously) in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

I'd also recommend Crap Cleaner as it 'might' be able to find things 'MS Install clean up' cannot find.
