limewire 5.2.18: procedure entry point _ismbcspace could not be located in the dynamic link library mcvcr71.dll

Hi There When i click on the icone to go into limewire i get this message

The procedure entry point _ismbcspace could not be located in the dynamic link library mcvcr71.dll

What can i do to overcome this

Reinstalling LW might fix this problem. I'd suggest using the offline LW installer http://www9.limewire.com/download/LimeWireWin-full.exe

An alternative is to use this other version which means no installation necessary: Download ‘Other’ version & simply unzip & use!. However, I'd suggest uninstalling LW before you use the 'Other' version via the Start menu -> All Programs -> LW -> Uninstall. It might also be wise to run Crap Cleaner after uninstalling LW. (Click on Registry tab on left side before you run this program.)

i have tried to reload limewie as well as java but it still gives the message. I can not get the other install program that you mention can you send it to me or where else can i get it

msvcp71.dll is apparently already on trevtp's system from what I read in the error message....I'm thinking something corrupted the file and removed an entry needed...

I'm thinking an uninstall of LW, manual deletion of the .dll file and replacing it via the link given to Tech Support Forum (may bry623 and yustr rot in hell)....then installing LW and it should work....

on searching through my laptop for this name i found a whole lot of them. They were all about 300 kb except one. I decided to rename that one so as to take it out of play and that has soterd my problem out. Thank you for all your responces
