updated to 5.5.8 & now no more limewire

after recently applying update to 5.5.8 my access to limewire has come to an end!

I'm running Windows XP with SP3
after researching the forums before registering i have

- updated and deleted all previous version of java

- checked FW

- uninstalled ALL previous pieces of LW

- ran CCLeaner

- reinstalled LW

- rebooted

and everytime I start LW I see the popup screen with the lime, it closes and another screen opens displaying blank for a bit and then things start filling in after a short wait (30 - 45 sec) in the screen

"Limewire Basic and Limewire pro are peer to peer ........

the language box works
but no radio buttons to complete / submit

and thats where it sits until you close the window!


PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

problem corrected -

Mom said that sometimes to solve a problem, all one must do is ask for help. Apparently she was right. Good to hear that your problem was resolved. But the suspense is killing me!

Did the problem fix itself? Something you did to make it work? Did you say some magic words? It would be nice to know in case others encounter the same problem.

after re-reading the posted instructions and NOT taking ANY shortcuts the outcome was access to limewire again.

uninstalled everything java
uninstalled everything limewire
ran CCleaner
rebooted
ran CCleaner again - just because
installed latest java
rebooted - just because, was not required
installed limewire
and it openned with no problems and works just like new
