Sorry... I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

Is the error showing up as soon as you click to download the installer?

Are you trying to run or save the installer?

Are you downloading from Official LimeWire Website & Free Download of Fastest P2P & Torrent Client - Lime Wire ?

I'm haveing the same problem. Limewire was working great, but had to do a system restore on my computer, went back 2 days, suddenly Limewire would not work and gave me the error "limewire unable to load" when starting the program. says to reinstall limewire. so i uninstalled it, download it again, it installs, but comes up with the same error when trying to start the program.

Dance Limewire won't work

I did the same thing even tried to install a older version of LW but nothing I did work, I did a system restore to 2 weeks earlier but that didn't work either...I ended up downloading a P2P program called IMesh which is a lot like LW but in some ways better...try it I sure you will like it. Go to download.com and put in IMesh...

iMesh does not run on Gnutella Network. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...tml#post352503 & you will miss out on copyright files unless you pay for them.

Try updating your Java (or reinstalling, if you already have the latest update): Java Downloads for All Operating Systems - Sun Microsystems
Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions (via Control Panel) before installing this one. Restart your computer after installing the new Java.

If that doesn't fix things, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will change all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.
Vista users: LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista

And if that doesn't help, right click on the LW icon > properties > compatibility. Try running in compatibility mode for Win 2000 or NT. Vista users, right click the LW icon & run as adminstrator & also try compatibility mode for XP.

I don't really think these links below relate to your problem, but just in case...

Do you have Alcohol software installed? If so, look here.
LW starts then close, log: resolve_virtual_call

You could also try the advice here: FIX: LimeWire won't start or closes immediately
