Lost Partial Downloads I've had a couple of instances since loading the Beta 1.4 where all my .xlx files have simply dissapeared. They are not in the waste bin (Windows 2k with Norton 2002 installed) and a DOS search comes up blank. This seems to occur when a fairly large file (90 - 100 M) is 99% downloaded, but I've no record of what files as they're all gone. I'm running through a Zone Alarm Firewall so would think it highly unlikely that somebody has gained OS level access to my PC (and if they have, why delete only these files?). Any suggestions? Using 1.4 beta 1 build 453. |
Error in beta I get the following when doing nothing, just downloading files off my transfer list in Win ME: Exception EOleSysError in "SocketDataAvailable" Bytes read:100 Total bytes read:1411 Exception message:Invalid class string Connection type:100 Connection buffer length:100 Connection buffer offset:0 Received packet: 474956203734353336313137303A433041383136 3643304138313636433041383136364330413831 36362F70756E6B20636F76657273202D206E6F20 646F756274202D636F6D65206F6E2065696C6565 6E20283830277320636F766572292E6D70330A0A |
HMODULE 4194304 errors fixed by complete delete, registry purge and reinstall, but seems to happen more when I shut down/exit program. That's also when I have files on transfer list appear at "0" when I restart. Have learned not to exit or remove laptop from docking station if files are actively coming down or going up. Any suggestions on better shutdown/exit routine? |
:( What happened to Xolox??? I've uninstalled, cleaned out the registry, downloaded old and new versions, and I just can't get it back!! Keep getting an error message that says: HMODULE: 4194304 Unhandled exception EConverError Exception message: '3.462835E7' is not a valid integer value Call stack: [0040936E] [0050A37D] [0043DF4A] [00421C16] What the heck does all this mean?? Somebody help me... I miss my Xolox! |
So far build 461 is working great for me. I was having problems with v1.32 and build 455 crashing each time I exited. I finally wised up and edited the registry entries after uninstalling build 455 and that seems to have solved the problem, keeping it from following from version to version. |
Thank you very much for reporting this error: Version: '1.4 Beta 1 build 461' Error message: 'HMODULE: 4194304 Unhandled exception EConvertError Exception message:''10:21:32 a'' is not a valid time Call stack: [0040936E] [00509EA3] [00508D30] [004E5D5F] [004F0F62] [004E9F79] [0050A358] [0043DF4A] [00421C16] [00525541]' Team XoloX bugs@xolox.nl Error every time I load it and try to search. Has to close the pgm. Both 1.32 and 1.4. Windows XP Home edition. Looks a good pgm, if I could use it!!! |
Error on Exit of Xolox Using beta 461, and Win ME, I get the following error every time I exit XOLOX: Exception EAccessViolation in module XOLOX.EXE at 0001A2EB. Access violation at address 0041A2EB in module XOLOX.EXE read of address FFFFFFFF. This error message is not reported back to XOLOX automatically. |
New Quark/Bug Ok, 461 running on Win98SE, all updates & patches installed.... It crashes alot. I've posted about these crashes before. However, it recently crashed and when it reloaded, a file which was on my download list, about 100+mb which was 65% complete, all of a sudden shows up with file size "?" and progress is blank. Later it crashed again and upon restart, another 100+mb file that also was fairly close to completion all of a sudden shows up as file size "0" and progress is blank. What the f*@#!?!? |
Downloading 35 meg file. At ~95% done, went to 0%. Still 2 large files in C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\xolox that add up to about that amount. Not downloading anything else this big. Also Upload transfer shows file with no name uploaded (happened 2X). Still crashes often. Windows 98 2nd ed 4.10.2222A All current windows updates installed (I think!) |
Zero'd out downloads??? Ok, as I posted before, when Xolox crashes, it is changing the file size on some of my downloads to "0" with the progress column blank. It has now done it 7 times. 5 of them remain at "0". It crashed a few minutes ago and when it restarted, 2 of those 7 went right to 100%, but they disappeared. They are nowhere to be found on my hard drive. This is happening with files that are almost done downloading. Then they go and zero out or disappear. This is killing me! |
Major step backwards Ok, so I upped to 472, but damn I wish I hadn't. Every single time I try to open the program I get the same error message... HMODULE: 4194304 Unhandled exception EHandleOsError Exception message:Exception happened in Xotella.Timer1Timer Exception: EExternalException Message: External exception 80000003 Prev call stack: "[BFF768A1] DebugBreak" Call stack: [0050B0D2] [0043DF52] [00421C1E] I can "x" out of the error dialog without clicking "procede" to send a report & restart. Xolox will remain open, but it won't connect. If I "procede" and restart, the same message pops up. It only worked right the first time I opened the program. Ever since then, I get the same message. Help! This really sucks! |
Me too I am getting the same error with Win ME. It didn't happen the first time I ran the program. HMODULE: 4194304 Unhandled exception EHandleOsError Exception message:Exception occured in Xotella.FindMoreSourcesTimerTimer Exception: EListError Message: List index out of bounds (38) Prev call stack: [00418176] [00418176] [0043DF52] [00421C1E] Call stack: [00512BD1] [0043DF52] [00421C1E] |
Another error Also getting this after download completes: HMODULE: 0 Unhandled exception EAccessViolation Exception message:Access violation at address 00000002. Write of address 05BBEFF8 Call stack: [00000002] [00404541] [004D1878] [004CCB12] [00451191] [0044D2A0] [004D666A] [004D6752] [0044A178] [0044D108] [0044CD83] [00421C1E] |
472 down the tubes Ok, after not being able to find a way to make 472 open any more, I've finally given up. I am back on 461, but not without much to-do. Simply uninstalling 472 (which leaves the downloads intact) and reinstalling into the same directory didnt cut it. I had to copy all downloads and the resumeinfo.txt into a different folder, uninstall 472 and manually remove any remaining traces, both folders and registry entries. I could then install 461 fresh, and copy the downloads & resumeinfo.txt back into the Xolox directory. I also had to remove the 90%+ completed files that had been "zeroed" out as they were causing problems. Any attempt to sort by file size caused InvalidInteger errors, and I think they may have had something to do with EList errors that were cropping up. What is becoming more and more obvious to me is that with 461, performance deteriorates over time with usage. The longer you use it, the more frequent the errors are. 472 was just in the dumps right out of the box. |
:D THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I did what you said, and I FINALLY got my Xolox to work again! Thanks again! |
Ineeda Download it first, No? It, ah... won't let me download. It goes around 55kbps, then at anywhere between 25-50% complete, it just stops. Stops, and does not continue. |
