The first problem you are describing sounds like either Xolox has partially crashed, Windows has partially crashed, or your computer is too slow. The second problem is not your problem nor is it a sign that your connection is bad. (Around where I live cable is faster than the DSL...) Very few transfers will go throuh in any timly fashon; that is just a redsult of Gnutella's dynamic qualities.
