xolox suggestions
 

Overall, i definitely think Xolox is the best gnutella client so far. There are several things I would like to see in future versions.

1) The ability to stop and resume a search. Its a pain looking through the hits if it keeps shifting because of the new hits being added. Sometimes this isnt a problem, but if the search is getting a lot of hits...

2) In the transfers window, add a remove option to the context menu for individual files. Also, the ability to select multiple files and cancel, pause, or resume those downloads would make things a lot simpler.

3) Also in the transfer, maybe make the "clear finished and aborted files" into a button (perhaps adding an option to always clear them). I like to see what has finished and then clear them from the window, and it seems like a button would be better than a check box.

4) If possible, it would be nice if there was a way to choose the "Safe download method" for files (from the context menu in transfers is a good place). Especially for smaller files (like images), I think I get better results with other gnutella clients -- it seems to me that the searching, etc just makes it take longer.

5) In the search window, have two hit counts, total hits and total files, where total hits would include hits on the same filename and total files would just list the total number of filenames found. Leave in the tabs for the individual searches, maybe "Search name (total files/total hits)" in each tab name. As it is now, the hit count could jump from 10 to 20, with no new files actually having been found.

6) In the transfer window, the sort is not refreshed, so as the status, transfer rate, percentage, etc change, the list stays static. There may be a reason for this, so maybe add a button or hotkey to refresh it on command.

7) Instead of having the three buttons at the top (Search, Transfers, and Files), make these into tabs (like in the search window) since thats basically what they are right now. I'd rather have less space taken up by the toolbar, esp since there are so few buttons and they are so large. You could also make this a customizable option.

8) Remove the IE from the search window, or add an option to disable it. I'd rather have a blank white or gray area there when there are no searches.

9) Finally, sometimes, i'll have a file in the download window thats just been sitting there, with no servers found. If I run a search, I can find a server that has it, but it still wont download. But if I cancel the initial download, and the choose download from the search window, it'll start downloading right away, or at least appear there and show that the server(s) are busy. I'm not sure what you could do to improve this though.
