We need more USERS!!!!!!! More files!!!!!

The gnutella network has more users than any other network there is - Not an issue...

We need more people to start sharing, not more users.

We also need more users to properly configure their client so that they are not trying to operate in excess of their true bandwidth capablities. Unless you have an extremely broad connection it is counter-productive to maintain too many Host connections and too many download and upload slots.
How many times have we all downloaded a file from someone with a very high declared connection speed only to have the transfer happen at a slower rate than with a dial-up modem user?
And this is not only a problem with people who incorrectly report their connection speed. You can very often see when someone, maybe briefly, has a reduction in connects and suddenly you are downloading at your maximum. These are people who are trying to do way too much with way too little and they slow down everything. This is a problem which seems to be becoming worse and worse.

Actually the sharing ratio is pretty damn good - can always get better.

Gnutella is definitely the future of file-sharing as long progress continues in the *right* direction with more uniform standards and improvements - i.e. the GDF and the like
