I tried to "upgrade" my version of limewire, AS RECOMMENDED, and every time I try to download the new version when I am about 98% installed I get a corrupt download message. I follow the directions and erase every file associated with Limewire, Java, etc. and try again, and again. Now I seem to have lost my saved music and everything. Can anybody help me?

well, I don't know anything I am doing when it comes to this stuff, but I finally got it. Not sure if this what did it but.... I went to recycle bin and found the original LimeWire before I tried to "upgrade" and "brought it back". Like I said, I don't know if what I THINK I did is even possible, or if that could possibly fix things or not, but it works now. AND all the downloads from my library came back!!!!!

anxious to hear if anyone else can make this process work for them too. oh and, shays420, your saved music is still on your computer somewhere in case you didn't know. I'm personally not smart enough to know---but my son found them for me. So at least I still had the list.

Newbie here - looking for info on this problem when I came across this page. I'm running Vista (problems with just about everything I've tried to use - a year on & it's still not compatible with everything???!!!!). The only way I could get Limewire to download was to use the old version (see the OP's sig on the first sticky above). It's downloaded but now is just constantly trying to connect. Anyone get this far & have ideas?
