looks to me to be a problem with the external firewire (or SCSI?) drive "IOSCSIMultimediaCommandsDevice"

When LW crashes you'll see mention of java and it won't trigger a kernel panic. kernel panics are OS or hardware problems (like FW drives, memory chips, and a corrupted OS)

There were problems with firewire drives a while back: check the manufacturers site for a firmware update or something like that.

icab [gad! I'd forgotten about that! what OS are you using?] and LW run in the "user space" and don't have enough access to the parts that can crash the system: they can only crash themselves.
