Default Save A Little Bandwidth

I run a T3 so this issue doesn't always affect me unless I que all my DL's before I go out or to bed. It is my understanding that your bandwidth can degrade if you are polling large numbers of files for an extended period of time. Below is an example:

my T3 is set to DL 45 files at a time and perform 35 searches simultaneously. I can also UL 2 slots and 2 files all at the same time and still get satisfactory results. If I need to I can turn off UL for a short time.

I thought it might help for those times when I do run slow or especially for other users with slower modems to have a switch in "options" to do some or all of the following:

1. Impose a user-defined time limit on polling.
2. Randomize polling when xx number of files are awaiting sources. If you have 30 or 40 files polling randomize to a user-defined number say 5-15 at any time.
3. If I a file is polled and it is completely unavailable or corrupt automatically move it back to the library.

I appreciate LW and like recent changes in the beta version!

Just a few ideas.
