Salut Trangle, if you saw the number of files before it means you were an ultrapeer not a leaf. Those stats were way inaccurate (the real number of files and gigs are 10 000X more). If you want to see them, go in tools menu - statistics - network.
Requieries are slowing Gnutella by abuse of other clients. LW was doing them 2 years ago, but since disabled them. There might be a solution to that in the future i.e not so soon.
