siblisabli is flying high
Default download times slowed to a crawl.

Hello

So first of all, I followed all the tips I could find, except that I am in a foreign country (Germany) and my semi-German-speaking roommate whose account this is (it's our first month with internet connection) is not here. I just moved here. I am running the free version (still have not received any information about the pro version I paid for) on a TiBook 867 MHz, 1MB L3 Cache, 1GB sdram. Wahtever that all means; I am not the most savvy user. We have DSL (all T-mobile stuff, a splitter and a router that is actually called Teledat 430 LAN by T-mobile) and using my ethernet card connection with the cat5 cord and everything. Everything is connecting, and until last night I was downloading really quite quickly. And then. It stopped. Now no matter what I do, it refuses to download at a reasonable speed, mostly in the 1s to 5s.

I simply don't know whether this has to do with T-mobile and perhaps reaching a limit for downloads-- the files I've gathered are each about 400 mb and I've downloaded maybe 5 of them so far plus some much much smaller ones, but our tariff is a flat rate. Not that that means anything, necessarily. Also I delete things from my hard drive soon after having downloaded them and used them.

Our IP address starts with 10 and I went and got our other ip address, though lord knows how that is going to help me. I forced the IP, though I don't want to upload, I want to download.

AAAAAgh!!!

thanks
